The Mary Cloche, Vintage style Cloche in Parasisal Straw - Made to order

This Cloche hat is blocked by hand on a vintage wooden hat block from finely woven parasisal straw. It is finished with an adjustable hatband, a lightly wired brim and hand sewn trim. I make most of the trims from scratch and sew hat trim by hant. This hat would be great for casual or more formal events such as weddings. The 3 inch wide brim is symmetrical, but narrows in the back - sized 21.5 - 22.5 inches with an adjustable head size ribbon.

This is a made to order hat with a 6-8 week lead time, please inquire if you need your hat by a specific date. The hats in the photos are some examples of finished cloche hats I have made.

Want it in a different color? With a bow or feathers? Simple trim? a Mermaid on top? Yes, I really enjoy making custom hats! This hat can be custom made in a variety of colors and trim to your specifications. The trim decoration on each hat is unique, we can discuss what you would like to be on your hat at the time of ordering.

Once you place your order, and select the color, shape and size of the hat, I will purchase the materials and begin blocking your hat. It takes about 6-8 weeks to block, sew in the brim and adjustable head size ribbon and hand make any ribbons, bows, flowers, cockades, feather work, ouches or other hat adornments for the hat. It takes many hours to make even a single silk flower, and sometimes I will make several different options for each hat.

Once the hat is ready to trim, you will receive (via etsy convo) mock up pictures of trim options for your approval before the hat is finished and shipped, this is a collaborative process which results in amazing one of a kind hats. There is by necessity, some artistic license expected and applied on my part, based on my experience with trim, materials and shape of the hat. It usually takes a couple of days to settle on a final trim design over convo, then I hand sew the trim, pack and ship your hat.

Generally, the whole process takes 6-8 weeks from the time you submit your payment for me to complete and ship your hat.

To determine your head measurements: please measure the circumference of your head above your eye brows, running the tape from your forehead, around the back of your head & returning to your forehead. Average head size is around 22.5" inch circumference. If your head is larger or smaller, contact me to discuss custom sizing.

As bespoke custom hats are one of a kind, made just for you. Therefore all custom hat orders are final, no returns or exchanges on custom hats.

The finalized price for your custom hat will need to be paid in full before beginning the process of creating your one of a kind, custom hat. Materials will not be purchased and construction will not begin on the hat without payment in full.

Felt and straw hats are meant for fashion wear, and if they get very wet or left in the sun they may lose their shape, fade or shrink. They can be dusted with a soft natural bristle brush for years of wear.
