Windsor Hat, Elizabethan Renaissance Unisex Tall Dome Crown hat in Chocolate wool Felt - in stock ready to ship

Inspired by art and portraits from the mid 1500's, this hat is hand blocked chocolate brown wool felt with wired welt brim edge and grosgrain hat band. It has a hand crafted spray of glossy natural iridescent rooster feathers, simple enough trim for middle or yeoman class depending on your ensemble.

This Renaissance Dome Crown Tall Hat was steamed and blocked by hand on a vintage wooden hat block. It features a comfortable grosgrain headsize ribbon that is adjustable, a black woven braid ribbon hatband and a lightly wired welt brim. The crown of the hat is lightly stiffened to hold its shape. It is inspired by several pieces of Renaissance art, including illustrations by Lucas de Heere from the 1570's.

This is a completed, ready-to-ship hat. It is unisex small in size, fitting 21” to 22” circumference.

To determine your head measurements: please measure the circumference of your head above your eye brows, running the tape from your forehead, around the back of your head & returning to your forehead. Average head size is around 22.5" inch circumference. If your head is larger or smaller, contact me to discuss custom sizing.

Blocked straw hats are meant for fashion wear, and if they get very wet or left in the sun they may lose their shape, fade or shrink. They can be dusted with a soft natural bristle brush for years of wear.
